LEARN THIS IMPORTANT CONVENTION:
When writing most contractions, write the whole first word, take out the beginning letters of the second word up to and including the first vowel, add an apostrophe, then write what's left of the second word.
Example: I + have —> I've-
NB: When writing a contraction with the word <not> write the whole first word, write <n> , add an apostrophe, then write <t>.
Example: did + not —> didn't -
NB: Will + not —> won't
Can + not —> can’t -
NB: When writing a contraction with the word <would>, write the whole first word, add an apostrophe, write the letter <d>.
he + would —> he'd
